Music has a way of reaching people that words sometimes miss. Our adaptive music program welcomes young adults and adults of all abilities, including those with autism and developmental disabilities, as part of the Van Nuys recreational day program. Participants explore piano, guitar, drums, bass, dumbuka, and singing at their own pace, with no experience needed.
Sessions stay small and sensory-friendly, and many participants discover that music and communication grow together: rhythm builds focus, playing builds coordination, and performing a song for friends builds real confidence. These are enrichment classes, built for joy, connection, and growth.
